Mug Shot

Rocky and Bullwinkle Mug

Bought for one quarter, sold for $14.95.

Let Them Eat Cake

Lets talk about cake toppers shall we? Although these flips are small, I think they are great items to look out for.  Cake decorating is very popular nowadays, and these two items had quite a few watchers and views.

First are these cute vintage snowmen. Christmas time is right around the corner y'all. Just about a season away!

Notice they say picks. I think they would be great cake toppers or cupcake toppers, and attract more people, so that is what I listed them as.

I bought a sewing box full of cake decorating tips and supplies at a church yard sale for $8. I am keeping all 18 tips for myself because thanks to my mother-in-law, am slowly but surely learning how to decorate cakes old school style (no fondant).  I sold the sewing box for $14.99, and the snowmen sold for $11.99. Not a bad turnaround, right?

I found this for $1.50 still in the box!!

Wilton baby!!! They sit on the throne of cake decorating in my book! This is such a beautiful piece by them. Too bad I didn't find this earlier, because this would of been so cute at my baby shower! Oh well, let another expecting mother enjoy this cute little cake topper. It sold for $15.50. Pretty swell I must say.

I Can't Believe Me!!

Ever since I've had baby, my mind has gone scatterbrained. I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten something or done something completely backward.

I wanted to show you a picture of a mug I sold today. Silly me already deleted the picture though. I'm sure there is a way you can get it off of Ebay, but I'm playing the "Newbie Blogger" card and not even messing with it tonight. I even had a cool title...I was going to call it "Mug Shot".

So, I sold a Far Side mug today for $10.50. It was the Midvale School for the Gifted one. In case you didn't know, Far Side mugs are pretty collectible and  super cheap to pick up at most thrift stores. I got mine for 25 cents. I'm thinking that I could of gotten more if I just would of done this listing Buy It Now style. I had alot of watchers, and the auction ended at a real funky time during the day. Oh well. You live and learn, right?

I can't let you go without showing you a picture of something, so I thought now would be a good time to broadcast my beautiful daughter to yall...much better than a silly Far Side mug anyway!

Grab a Grab Bag!

Life is like a thrift store grab bag...you never know what your gonna get.

Case in point with a bag full of doll clothes I picked up a few weeks ago for $1.99. The bag had to of had 70+ articles of clothing in it. When I got home and looked through it, to my delight, I found a majority of the clothes were Barbie! 1980's Barbie at that!! I took out the prettiest pieces and put them on Ebay as a lot. 18 pieces in all. When you look for good Barbie clothes to sell, make sure you find the ones that have snaps. That indicates they have some good age on 'em. Here is what just sold for $22.50:

Because these did so good, I am tempted to put the rest up even though they aren't as fancy. I'll keep you posted!

Real Flip or Not? I'm Puzzled.

I don't know if this constitutes as a real flip because I didn't buy it. My sister did, and she gave it to me as a present. A 1000 piece Mary Poppins Fine Art Disney Puzzle. It was sitting upstairs for the longest time wasting space when I ran across it, and I immediately looked it up on Ebay. Anything I see Disney requires a quick Ebay check. Keep that in mind y'all. Disney will forever be collected by the old and new, and some people pay pretty pennies for that name!

Come to find out, my puzzle is a popular item! The last one sold in the $40 range, and had 15 bidders! HOT!!! I called sis and asked her if she would be hurt if I sold it. Its not like I would have any time within the next 18 years of my life to put it together. Sis said something like "Oh, that thing? I bought it at a yard sale for a dollar. I don't care if you sell it." Well, you don't have to tell me twice. I listed it as soon as baby went to sleep that night. Seven days later I'm $41 richer! Be on the look out (BOLO) folks!!!

Is This Thing On?

Ahem.

Is anyone out there?

Hello World!!

Welcome to my little morsel of space in this vast realm known as the World Wide Web.

I'm a new stay at home mom, and our family is in need of some extra cash flow. In order to cure this need, and also my addiction to yard sales and thrift stores,  I have become a "Thing Flipper".  I buy things cheap, clean them up if need be, and sale them for a profit. Sound like fun to you? Well then, you've come to the right place!!

Please join me on my new adventure, as I keep you posted on my weekly shopping finds, profits and losses, and maybe a good southern recipe thrown in every once in awhile! If I'm not making deals, I'm in the kitchen making meals!

Stay Tuned!!!
